ST GEORGE'S HOSPITAL, LONDON

In recent years COTTEE have been Transport Planning advisors to the largest healthcare provider in southwest London and one of the country’s principal teaching hospitals with 8,500 staff serving a population of 1.3 million across southwest London. We have advised on access and new designs for A&E vehicles, visitor / staff traffic & parking, and the impact of development proposals.

VICTORIA QUARTER NEW BARNET – 300 APARTMENTS

COTTEE secured approval for this new large residential quarter in north London. The work involved a Transport Assessment and detailed negotiations with the London Borough and Transport for London to deliver a scheme with multi modal access to the road network, rail and bus services, cycle and pedestrian routes. A Pedestrian Environment Review System (PERS) and safety audits were undertaken.

ST JAMES DOVER – RETAIL, RESTAURANT, HOTEL AND LEISURE

St James is located a short distance from the Port of Dover and the town centre. COTTEE undertook Transport Master Planning through to a Compulsory Purchase Order / Stopping Up Order Inquiry culminating in a Transport Assessment which involved successful negotiations with Kent Highways and Highways England to deliver this key regeneration project for Dover. Key issues involved parking, servicing, and impact on the key A20 trunk road route into Dover port immediately adjacent to the site.

PORT ONE LOGISTICS PARK IPSWICH

COTTEE delivered a successful outcome on transport matters with consent for 800,000 sq ft of high bay warehouse adjacent to the A14 Ipswich. This involved negotiations with Suffolk County Council and Highways England to secure consent together with Travel Planning to ensure access by non-car modes to this key employment site.

HALL ROAD DISTRICT CENTRE INCORPORATING A FOOD STORE – NORWICH

COTTEE provided Transport Planning advice from the Master Planning stage through to public consultation; analysis and design of off-site highway works (to Stage 1 Audit). We prepared a Transport Assessment, involving the design of the access and car parking; and operation of the site with the monitoring of the Travel Plan. The work involved negotiations with Norfolk County Council and Norwich City Council to deliver a successful outcome.

FIVEWAYS FARM COLCHESTER – 500 HOMES

Surveys and analysis of 15 junctions including a major trunk road intersection, involving the design of new junction layouts and negotiations with Highways England & Essex County Council.

DESIGNER OUTLET VILLAGE BRAINTREE - 200,000 SQFT RETAIL AND RESTAURANTS

COTTEE have advised on access by all modes, servicing, parking and signing to this major site. Traffic modelling and discussions with Essex County Council and Highways England have been a key part of this project.

NEWMARKET AND LAMBOURN RACE HORSE CROSSINGS

COTTEE have worked closely with Jockey Club Estates, Suffolk County Council, Cambridgeshire County Council, and West Berkshire Council to design and implement bespoke crossings to improve the safety of race horses and their riders in historic Newmarket, and in Lambourn.

FORTESCUE ROAD, COLLIERS WOOD

COTTEE have been involved in numerous residential schemes in London. This scheme involved 74 units on a former Thames Water Depot site to the rear of Fortescue Road. We were involved in preparing the Transport Assessment, Travel Plan, Waste Management Strategy, Delivery and Servicing Plan and Construction Management Plan which were submitted with the successful planning application.

RETIREMENT VILLAGE, CHALFONT ST. PETER

We have been involved in assessing the transport impact associated with various retirement villages throughout the country. This village involved 82 units together with on-site facilities. The Transport Statement and Travel Plan were produced based on surveys of similar villages built by the same client. The scheme was approved by the local council who have subsequently encouraged an extension of the village.

PARKWAY PRIMARY SCHOOL, THAMESMEAD

The expansion of this primary school doubled the number of pupils and included a Special Educational Needs unit. The work involved undertaking extensive junction and parking surveys to understand the implications of more pupils arriving and leaving at opening and closing times and in particular the potential increase in parking on local streets.

TRESHAM COLLEGE, WELLINGBOROUGH

The scheme involved redevelopment of the Wellingborough Campus with a view to accommodating up to 1000 students. Travel questionnaire surveys established modes of travel by staff and students. The Transport Statement considered the impacts within the town centre and the Travel Plan included measures to encourage sustainable travel modes.

KNOLL HOUSE, WALTHAM ABBEY

COTTEE assisted in securing planning permission for two detached dwellings which required agreeing the form of access with Essex County Council Highways. The work involved preparing a Transport Statement, visibility and tracking assessments as well as responding to highway objections.
